Beginning in Vancouver on Sept. 18, a pair of Edmonton’s own independent hip hop superstars will be opening for the 2008 Method Man and Redman Still High Tour, presented by Boodang Music Canada.

 Since being listed as the opening act in November of last year for Method Man’s Canada-wide tour, Shamik Bilgi and Ace Records recording artist Sami “Unkle Sam” Elber are ready to beat box with fans from coast to coast with a unique combination of street-flavoured hip hop and electronic music, all without playing a single instrument. Having long since gained underground popularity for their acapella stage performances, the pair has been collaborating on their first release together under the Ace Records label, “Because the Biz Told Us To,” a landmark album not only for independent hip hop in Edmonton but also for beat boxers across the world. Very few live performers of this rare and difficult musical discipline pursue beat boxing to such heights as their own full length album.

Both artists have been performing across Canada and hotspots around the globe in  Canada, USA, Egypt, Czech Republic, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Taiwan.. They have added new sounds to their bag of tricks with every nation they visit and continue to bridge the cultural gaps between international audiences with hyped-up stage performances that win even the skeptics over.
